McLaren
Known for decades for its success in Formula 1, McLaren made headlines with the iconic F1 supercar in the 1990s. Now the British brand based in Woking, Surrey, is pushing to become a higher volume automaker, though it’s still considered quite the boutique marque. Since launching the MP4-12C sports car, 12C Spider, and the dramatic and game-changing P1 hypercar, McLaren now has a few lines of cars: its GT Series, Super Series, and Ultimate Series, each one getting increasingly more exclusive and expensive than the last.
The recently-renamed GT Series includes the McLaren GT … and that’s all. It’s billed as the more everyday McLaren, though we’re still talking about a 600-horsepower, mid-engined wedge. The Super Series currently includes the absurdly quick McLaren 720S coupe and spider, plus the more extreme 765LT version. McLaren also includes its V6-powered, hybridized Artura in the Super Series, a replacement for the 570S.
McLaren 720S – Review, Specs, Pricing, Features, Videos and More
The McLaren 720S is the brand’s oldest car and is due for replacement soon. Even if it is a bit dated, the 720S is still a serious performer. A 710-hp turbocharged V8 engine mounted in the middle of the car provides all the power this supercar needs.
McLaren 765LT Spider – Review, Specs, Pricing, Features, Videos and More
The 765LT Spider is the ultimate McLaren. The convertible supercar features a 755 hp turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine and dual-clutch automatic transmission. As the LT indicates, this is a Long Tail McLaren that utilizes a large adjustable rear spoiler.
McLaren Artura – Review, Specs, Pricing, Features, Videos and More
The Artura ushers in a new era for McLaren, utilizing a down-sized six-cylinder engine and plug-in hybrid technology. Fears that this would dilute the performance and feeling of the brand thankfully did not come to be. The Artura is still every bit of a performer as its V8 siblings.
McLaren GT – Review, Specs, Pricing, Features, Videos and More
The McLaren GT is a less frantic mid-engine supercar from the British manufacturer. It’s designed to take on the world’s finest GT cars from the likes of Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Mercedes-Benz. Power comes from a turbocharged V8 engine paired to a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
