Rome, October 21^st, 2020– TheVatican Newswebsite^[1]has reported the news that today at the Rome Film Festival a documentary film will be screened calledFrancescomade by director Evgeny Afineevsky.

This documentary – according to what has been reported byCatholic News Agency^[2]andAmerica Magazine^[3]– makes public several pronouncements of Jorge Mario Bergoglio on the topic of homosexuality. Among the various statements, these two are particularly disconcerting:

Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. They’re children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out, or be made miserable because of it.”

“What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that.”
