This is the World's Only Lamborghini Miura SVR

With just 763 examples produced, the drop-dead gorgeous Lamborghini Miura is already one of the most exclusive vehicles the Italian automaker has ever built.

And while all Miuras are considered legendary, nothing compares to the one and only Miura SVR. The vehicle was the pet project of Lamborghini test driver Bob Wallace and was essentially an evolution of the Miura Jota – another race-ready Miura creation that Wallace was responsible for. Wallace’s upgraded Miura Jota was later lost in an accident, though, but customers kept knocking on Lamborghini’s door and demanding they make them a Miura Jota.

Lamborghini ended up building a handful of Miura Jotas for these passionate customers, along with a single Miura SVR. The vehicle was eventually sold to a customer in Japan, where it gained a cult following and featured as a Kyosho 1:18 scale model in the Japanese Manga ‘Circuit Wolf’. The vehicle has now been fully restored by the talented folks within Lamborghini’s Polo Storico restorations division, and was recently presented at the Nakayama Circuit in Japan.

“The full restoration took 19 months and required a different approach to the way we normally work,” said Polo Storico Paolo Gabrielli. “The original production sheet wasn’t of much help, as we relied mostly on the specifications from the 1974 modifications. The challenge for the Polo Storico team was even more daunting as the car arrived in Sant’Agata in pieces, although the parts were all there, and with considerable modifications. The only variations on the original specifications were the addition of 4-point safety belts, more supportive seats and a removable roll bar. These were expressly requested by the customer and are intended to improve safety during the car’s racetrack exhibitions.”

The results of Lamborghini’s work speak for themselves: the Miura SVR appears showroom perfect, and is likely now the most valuable Miura example in existence.
