The RAM 1500 REV made its debut right during the Superbowl.

The all-electric RAM 1500 REV surprised us all, by revealing all of its sheet metal during this year’s Superbowl. Dropping during a hilarious ad satirizing men’s “enhancement’ pills, the 60-second ad took the wraps off the electric truck.

I guess the humor was meant to distract us from what feels a little like a bait-and-switch. The production version of the RAM 1500 REV doesn’t look much like the concept, at all. Aside from a unique front fascia, and charge port on the front fender, it’s clear that the RAM 1500 is mostly the same as its ICE brethren, at least stylistically. At the rear, boomerang rear lights tie into the concept, but the bed shape and side storage pockets look to be nearly identical to the regular RAM 1500.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The Ford F-150 Lightning essentially is a heavily modified regular F-150. Ford intentionally made it so that bed, and bed accessories from the standard F-150 would fit the Lighting with ease. Given the RAM 1500 REV’s bed shape, this points to evidence that Stellantis likely had the same rationale. Designs like the Chevy Silverado EV, or forthcoming Tesla Cybertruck (if it ever gets here), can’t be up-fitted as easily as the Ford or RAM designs.

We don’t have any other specifications of the RAM 1500 REV, aside from a very tiny glimpse of a possible interior during the 60-second commercial. Stellantis hasn’t announced power, range, pricing, or anything else.

However, Stellantis has announced the Rev Insider+ program. For a $100 refundable fee, potential buyers interested in the RAM 1500 REV can enter the line to pre-order the truck. They also get exclusive access to events and news about the truck.

Stellantis says production of the RAM 1500 REV begins next year.
