The 2023 Honda Accord Comes In At $28,390, Slightly More Expensive The Old Model
The 2023 Honda Accord is mostly a hybrid affair, that’s only a little bit more expensive than the old car.
The latest batch of the newest generation of Honda Accord is en route to dealerships, as sales should commence later this month. Pricing has also been confirmed by Honda; the Accord now starts at $28,390, for the base Accord LX model, including the $1,095 destination fee. This is a change of about $775 compared to last year’s sedan.
However, the Accord lineup has been simplified, and more aligned with Honda’s push for electrified models. The 2.0-liter turbo is no more, with all Accords coming equipped with the 1.5-liter turbo engine mated to a CVT automatic, or a 2.0-liter hybrid setup. The hybrid setup is rated for 204 horsepower and 247 ft/lbs of torque and is the sole powertrain on offer in the Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring trims. The 1.5-liter equipped cars are rated for 29 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 32 combined. The hybrid’s economy maxes out at 51 mpg city, 44 mpg highway, 48 mpg combined in the EX-L trim. Other hybrid trims can achieve a rating of 46 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 44 mpg combined.
If you’re comparing base hybrid, to base hybrid, the cheapest Accord hybrid has jumped to $32,990, more than $4,000 more expensive than last year’s car. The base trim hybrid of the last generation is gone, meaning the new Sport trim picks up the slack. The Accord lineup tops out at $38,985, for the top trim Accord Touring, which is a hybrid.
Honda expects 50% of sales of the new Accord to be hybrid, which the brand says is a key step in its electrification strategy.
