Kia Stinger – Review, Specs, Pricing, Features, Videos and More
The Stinger is a completely different kind of vehicle from Kia. It’s a more upscale, sport lift back that features a choice of turbocharged engines making 300 or 368 hp. With the option of rear- and all-wheel drive, the Stinger focuses on handling prowess more than passenger comfort. But that’s not to say the big hatchback is an uncomfortable place to by – far from it.
The Stinger’s days are number though, so better act fast if you’re interested in this stylish sporty lift back.

2023 Kia Stinger GT Tribute Review: Farewell to a Hidden Gem
When it came to the North American automotive market, Korean brands spent the first few decades primarily focusing on family-first, value-packed offerings. Sure, the brands dabbled with performance vehicles like the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Veloster Turbo, and Kia Forte SX Koup, and with various levels of success, but it hadn’t changed the perception of the manufacturers.
Then the Kia Stinger arrived and changed everything. It, along with the closely related Genesis G70, proved that Korean brands could make great performance cars when fully committed. It laid the groundwork for Hyundai’s N cars, the Kia EV6 GT, and many subsequent Genesis products.

The Kia Stinger Could Be a Future Classic
Recently, I spent a week with the Kia Stinger and were reminded of all the things we appreciate about Kia’s sporty fastback. 2022 Kia Stinger GT Review: Life in the Touring Lane
The Kia Stinger is a real sport sedan, period.
“Is that a Kia?” Remarked a passerby as I kneeled before the 2022 Kia Stinger GT looking for the right front three-quarter angle. “Sure is.” I grinned. The disbelief on the face was apparent. She proceeded to go around the car taking numerous pictures inside and out. “It feels almost like a BMW.” she concluded and that’s when it hit me.
If you had told someone that one day Kia would make a grand tourer, you would have been laughed out of the room. But here we are. It might have been a bit of a compromise compared to the German lot but it’s still a true sport sedan. With the 2022 Stinger, Kia is looking to further cement its position as a true rival to the German three thanks to a new interior package, a tech upgrade, a bit more power, and a new badge. And if the aforementioned conversation is any indication, I’d say it’s working.
