Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Spied Inside and Out
Aston Martin‘s next sports car has been spied testing its twin-turbo V12 at the Nurburgring.
Using a DB11-based prototype, the British automaker is currently developing the DBS Superleggera, which will serve as a successor to the DBS. The model will place an emphasis on being light and handling well, although it won’t be a slouch with a rumored 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine generating over 700 horsepower.
Although the new DBS Superleggera will effectively replace the Vanquish in Aston Martin’s lineup, don’t expect the Vanquish nameplate to vanish. The company has alternated between using the Vanquish and DBS model designations for its range-topping supercar since the original Vanquish bowed in 2001.

Like previous models, expect the DBS Superleggera to offer a Volante convertible variant shortly after the coupe is introduced. Rumor has it the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera will bow at the end of this month, with deliveries possibly starting next year.
That also means we will likely see more prototypes testing in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for more spy photos on AutoGuide.com.
