The Nissan Sentra continues to offer consumers a lot of space in a stylish, efficient compact sedan. Only one engine is currently available, a 2.0-liter four cylinder making 149 hp. Recently, the Sentra underwent a mild style update that saw it improve efficiency.

Although it might not back it up on the performance front, the SR does add some sporty style to the Sentra.

Pros

Great looks and color palette, excellent pricing, Zero Gravity seats

Cons

Joy-sapping CVT, sad-sack base model infotainment, a turbocharged Spec-V would be cool

Bottom Line

The new Sentra is an affordable, stylish alternative to the Civic and Corolla. It might lack the body style options and a more powerful engine, but it nails the fundamentals.

Toyota Corolla LE Vs Nissan Sentra SR Comparison

So you’ve been called back to the office.

It’s not a full five-days-a-week expectation anymore, which is good, since you moved further out of town. You need a sensible set of wheels, whether it’s to brave downtown, or even just shoot over to the nearby train station.

There are few cars more sensible than the Toyota Corolla. The perennial best-seller saw a useful round of updates for this year. The bulk of the changes focused on the empowered hybrid and it gaining AWD—to say nothing of the riotous GR Corolla. But the humble LE saw a big improvement too, gaining the more powerful and more efficient 2.0-liter engine found elsewhere in the lineup. It also saw a huge infotainment improvement, which should make those early morning commutes easier.

The Nissan Sentra gets a new look for 2024.

Automakers are abandoning small sedans en masse, but Nissan Sentra has remained on the market despite the sedanocopypse. For 2024, Nissan has refreshed the Sentra bringing new improvements in style and efficiency. Could this be what the Sentra needs to boost its slipping sales numbers?

Regarding the exterior, the 2024 Nissan Sentra refresh gets a new look in a similar fashion to the recently updated Altima. The front grille’s V-shaped chrome applique has been removed. Instead, two chrome slats sit on either side of the front grille. The headlights are updated, too. New 16-inch and 18-inch wheel designs round out the Sentra’s updated appearance. The sporty SR trim gains new red SR badges on the grille. The interior stays mostly the same, save for new black interior bezels, and recolored SR orange stitching elements that better match the orange used on other Nissan products.
