Ram 1500 Revolution Concept's Production Name Hinted At From Trademark Filing
We might know the official RAM EV truck’s name, thanks to the US trademark office.
This year, Stellantis is debuting its Ram 1500 Revolution EV pickup, but the brand is adamant that it’s still more of a concept and not a production model. But, shrewd eyes at Carbuzz noticed that FCA US LLC filed two trademarks, one of which is called the Ram 1500 REV. The second slogan is Freedom Is Electric.
True, it’s possible this is just one potential name; automakers trademark and patent nameplates that go unused all the time. But, the REV naming scheme slots neatly as a continuation of the Ram 1500 Revolution concept moniker. Or, The Ram EV pickup is rumored to have a gas-engine range extender variant coming, as well. That’s something its main competitors the Chevy Silverado EV and Ford F-150 Lighting don’t have. The “REV” could hint at that range-extending ability. Whatever the case, it looks likely that the production Ram 1500 EV pickup will likely end up using this name and tagline in its marketing when it launches.
Ram will show off its first-ever electric truck in concept form on January 5, at CES 2023, in Las Vegas. We don’t have details yet, but we do know that Stellantis says the production model will have 300 to 350 miles of range, possibly edging out the Ford F-150 Lightining’s maximum 320 miles of range. The production version of the Ram 1500 Revolution concept is expected to make its way to the public by 2024.
