Production 2020 Lincoln Aviator Spied Testing
The 2020 Lincoln Aviator has been spied testing for the very first time.
Recently previewed in the form of a concept at the 2018 New York Auto Show, the Lincoln Aviator is expected to go on sale next year as a 2020 model. Riding on Ford’s all-new D6 architecture, expect rear-wheel drive to be available once the Aviator goes on sale.
The concept featured a twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, although it’s unclear if that will make it to the production model. It’s more likely the Aviator will be offered first with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, with a hybrid variant arriving at a later date.
Unfortunately, the prototype being tested is still heavily camouflaged, so it’s hard to make out any details. But we can see it will be similar in size to the concept with a bold front end featuring a grille that is promised to be more stunning than what’s seen on the Navigator.

The cabin of the new Aviator will focus on luxury, with 30-way adjustable seats up front with massage function. There’s also a center-mounted infotainment screen and 12-inch digital cluster display, both of which should make their way to the production model in similar fashion. Also expect plenty of advanced safety features such as automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, lane keeping system, back-up camera, and auto high-beam lighting. Lincoln also showed off a new system called “Suspension Preview Technology,” which adjusts the suspension based on upcoming road conditions.
Expect to hear more about the 2020 Lincoln Aviator later this year, as spy photographers will likely catch it in action as it continues testing.
