Poll: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio or Mercedes-AMG C63 S?
Pick a favorite magnum-caliber sports sedan!
Would you rather go for a rip in the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio or Mercedes-AMG C63 S? C’mon, you’ve got to have a favorite!
The fresh-faced Quadrifoglio features a Ferrari-sourced 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that kicks like an angry equine, delivering 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet. All that twist is sent rearward through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Accordingly, the dash to 60 takes just 3.8 blistering seconds.
Counterpunching, the C63 S features a hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that’s rated at 503 ponies and 516 units of twist, enough of each to propel this highly tuned sedan to 60 miles an hour in a claimed 3.9 seconds. Aiding an abetting this delinquency is a seven-ratio AMG Speedshift gearbox.
Each of these cars can deliver stupid speed, with the AMG topping out at 180 miles an hour in S trim. Thanks to its Ferrari heart, the Giulia’s terminal velocity is a little higher at 191.
Not that anyone shopping for a sports sedan like these is overly concerned with efficiency, but each one should average 20 miles per gallon in mixed driving, at least according to the EPA. They should also return 24 MPG on the highway. Curiously, despite having a larger-displacement engine and one less gear in its transmission the C63 S more economical around town where it should return 18, one MPG more than the Quadrifoglio.
Pricing for both these cars is VERY similar as well, with each one starting in the mid $70,000 range when delivery fees are included.

Well for sports sedans like these; i'd love the four-leaf clover for impromptu amusement rides on my favorite rural cloverleaf But since even a 2012 C63 is faster around Laguna Seca i'd have to really justify it first.
