Rumor has it the Pagani Huayra Roadster will finally make its debut this year.

We’ve held onto a render of the Pagani Huayra Roadster since 2011 in anticipation for the model’s eventual debut. Little did we know at the time that it wouldn’t bow for some five years later but it looks like it finally will.

According to a report from Car Buzz, the Italian automaker will introduce the drop-top exotic at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 21 and the model is “in the final stages of development.”

There shouldn’t be any major surprises when the Pagani Huayra Roadster finally debuts. Like other convertible models, expect it to weigh a bit more due to the re-engineering required for a removable top. Perhaps the biggest disappointment will be the removal of the gullwing doors, but maybe Pagani has a surprise for us.

Production on the convertible variant will likely be limited to 100 units and 75 of them are reportedly already spoken for. The company is also rumored to have a hardcore BC variant in the works, which debuted in coupe form at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
