next generation ford ranger rumored to debut next month

Ford’s next Ranger may be revealed in May.

The Ford Ranger has been essentially unchanged since its revival for the US and Canadian markets in 2019. Yet, although that truck was new to us, it essentially was a facelift of a model that had been on sale in a lot of global markets since 2011. It’s due for a replacement, especially since the GMC Canyon and Chevy Colorado are all new designs.

Well, according to Ford Authority, the next Ranger may be due to debut next month. Ford hasn’t officially announced anything, but that outlet’s sources say the US will get a full reveal of the truck in May.

For the rest of the world, the Ford Ranger was completely redesigned for the 2023 model year. It still uses the same T6 platform shared with the Ford Bronco, but it’s been updated some for the latest generation. Inside, the new Ranger shares similar vibes as the rest of the Ford lineup, dropping the dated small screen for a long central screen that controls most of the vehicle’s functions.

It’s also speculated that this time the Ranger Raptor will likely make the jump to the US and Canada. Last generation’s Ranger Raptor with its diesel engine just wasn’t right for our market, but the twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 in the new truck could be just the ticket for those in search of that Raptor fury in a smaller package. No official powertrain specifications have been released, though.

Whatever the case, expect Ford to release a new Ranger very soon.

How about Ford figuring out how to fill all the year old orders for their Maverick trucks before rolling out new models of their other trucks? It's ridiculous to have to wait for a year to get a truck that they promote to the public.

Not rolling out the new Ranger would not make more Mavericks magically appear.
