mercedes maybach teases its next swanky concept car

A new Mercedes-Maybach concept is expected to debut at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

The German automaker first teased the car last week with a short video on social media, and has now released a more detailed teaser offering glimpses of the concept’s exterior, interior, and wheels. It appears the new concept will be similar to the stunning Vision 6 that bowed at last year’s event, and Autocar reports it will be a convertible version of last year’s concept. It’s a possibility the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 coupe and convertible will eventually head to production, serving as rivals to the Rolls-Royce Wraith and Dawn models.

The 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will kick off August 20 and AutoGuide.com will be there reporting live from the event. If the new concept from Mercedes does turn out to be a Vision 6 convertible, expect it to an electric powertrain just like the coupe. In last year’s concept, it boasted 738 horsepower and over 200 miles of range.

Why did you put an "s" in "wanky"?

Another site shows convertible renderings in both red and blue. Both top down rear boot images are stunningly ugly...totally disrupting the otherwise powerfully dramatic lines of car. The rear lip of the cabin compartment appears to be so high as to render the interior rear view mirror absolutely useless....why? Hopefully, the renderings are inaccurate.
