Lamborghini Huracan Evo Makes Taming 640 HP Easy

The Huracan Evo features trickle down performance technology from the awesomely fast Huracan Performante, but is a bit more usable than its track-focused brother.

Powering the Huracan Evo is the same 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 as the Huracan Performante, which is good for 640 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling a 0-62 mph sprint of 2.9s and a top speed of over 201 mph.

Joining the 640 hp V10 are new rear wheel steering and four-wheel torque vectoring systems, which are both controlled by a new central processing unit called the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata. The automaker says the computer system “controls every aspect of the car’s dynamic behaviour, fully integrating all of the car’s dynamic systems and set-up to anticipate the next move and needs of the driver,” and “interpreting this into perfect driving dynamics.”

A new Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) system is also present, which works with the rear-wheel steering system to optimize low speed corner agility and provide increased stability in high speed corners and under heavy braking.

The supercar is clearly set apart from other versions of the Huracan by its aerodynamically optimized front fascia, race car-style open rear fascia and integrated rear ducktail spoiler. There’s also a new aerodynamic underbody piece that improves downforce and aerodynamic efficiency more than five times over the original Huracan, Lamborghini says.

Inside sits a new vertically-mounted 8.4-inch HMI capacitive touchscreen with navigation, web radio, a video player, Apple CarPlay and more. An optional dual-camera telemetry system is available as well, allowing the driver to record their on track footage and telemetry for later analyzation.

A number of new bi-color interior colors are available, along with Alcantara upholstery and carbon trim, among more.
