Infiniti Set to Build Five New Vehicles in China
Infiniti is putting a huge focus on the Chinese automotive market, which is its biggest market in regards to growth market globally.
Starting with the QX50, Infiniti has announced it will build five new vehicles in China over the next five years with the goal of tripling its sales in the country. In addition, as part of its plan to electrifiy its portfolio, the Japanese luxury automaker anticipates that by 2025, over half of new Infiniti vehicles sold globally and in China will be electrified. Last year, the brand sold a record 48,408 vehicles in China, marketing a 16-percent increase year-over-year.
The company is working with partner Dongfeng Motor Company Ltd., to pursue localization in China, which also includes expanding its network footprint and introducing new technologies such as the variable compression VC-Turbo engine, along with e-Power vehicle electrification.

At the upcoming Beijing Motor Show, Infiniti will show off the all-new QX50 in Asia for the first time. Local production of the model is expected to begin ramping up shortly at Infiniti’s manufacturing facility in Dalian. Those units will be sold exclusively to the Chinese market later this year.
Joining the QX50 for its Asian debut is the Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept, which represents the next step in Infiniti design.
