Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Weighs Just 1,000 KGs, Tops Out at 225 MPH
The annual Geneva Motor Show is always known for its supercar reveals, but Aston Martin may have just blown its competition away, at least this year.
The folks in Gaydon, UK have been cooking up an even more extreme version of their track-only Valkyrie hypercar. The AMR Pro model, which just made its world debut in this French-speaking corner of Switzerland, has been trimmed down, losing a fair bit of weight, pumped up, to deliver even more speed, and refined in countless other ways.
For starters, this ultra-exotic machine weighs but a paltry 1,000 kilograms (2,205 pounds). But thanks to cutting-edge aerodynamics it can generate more than that in downforce while driving.
To make the Valkyrie AMR Pro lighter, non-essential elements were scrapped, things like the heater and infotainment system. Additionally, the windshield and side glazing has been replaced by a polycarbonate material instead of traditional glass. Beyond all that, the car’s carbon-fiber body has been pared down, while the suspension wishbones and molded racing seats are made of this pricey but mass-efficient material as well. Even the exhaust system has lost weight.

Propelling it to a top speed of 225 miles an hour (362 km/h) is a recalibrated 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12. To deliver more giddy-up, the emission-control and energy-recovery systems have been further refined. Naturally, complete technical details will be released closer to the Valkyrie AMR Pro’s on-sale date.
According to Aston Martin, this track-prowling beast can provide more than 3G’s of lateral grip, a figure that’s supposedly far more than any other vehicle derived from a road-going model can provide.
Just 25 examples of the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro will be built, and they’ll probably sell out in a heartbeat once they become available. Delivers expected to begin in 2020. As for pricing, well, if you have to ask…
