Bentley Flying Spur Finally Spied Testing New Body
Up until now, we’ve only seen Bentley using mules to test the next-generation Flying Spur, but now we see a body that is likely close to production.
Essentially the sedan version of the Bentley Continental, the next-generation Flying Spur will ride on the Porsche Panamera’s platform, although it will be longer for the luxurious sedan.
The new Continental is expected to be influenced by the EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept, so expect the Flying Spur to have similar design elements, especially up front. For now, the British automaker is trying to make the prototype look like the current Flying Spur with its camouflage, but we can see that its overall shape won’t change significantly.

The platform won’t be the only thing the next Flying Spur shares with the Panamera. Expect some of the Panamera’s engines to find its way to Bentley, and hopefully, the 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine lives on. More importantly, however, expect to see a plug-in hybrid variant for the next-generation Flying Spur and even diesel engines, at least for Europe.
The model should make its debut in late 2018 or early 2019.
