The upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show will be host to many interesting debuts, but all eyes will be on Mercedes-AMG’s hypercar.

The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show will host its media days on September 12-13, and AutoGuide.com will be there reporting live from the show floor. Although most of the major debuts have already happened online, we can expect a few surprises, with the most exciting being the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar.

2017 Frankfurt Motor Show Coverage

Here’s what we are expecting from the major automakers that are hosting debuts at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

Audi

Now that the new Audi A8 has been introduced, the new Audi A7 is expected to debut in Frankfurt. There are also rumors Audi will bring a rear-wheel-drive R8 GT and RS4 Avant to the show.

Bentley

Bentley already pulled the cover off the new Continental GT, but Frankfurt will be the first time we get to see it in person.

BMW

With such a massive model lineup, it’s no surprise BMW will have a few things to show off in Frankfurt. The BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, which replaces the 5 Series Gran Turismo, will be on the show floor, along with the new M5, i3, and i3s models. We’ll also get a look at a concept for the upcoming BMW X7 SUV.

Ferrari

It’s unlikely Ferrari will have any surprises up its sleeves for Frankfurt, so all eyes will be on the new Portofino, which replaces the California and was introduced last month.

Honda

Honda will unveil its next steps toward “Electric Vision” at Frankfurt, hosting the world premiere of the Honda Urban EV Concept. The automaker says the concept will be its first EV for Europe, so it’s unclear whether it will be a global model. We will also see a CR-V Hybrid Prototype. For Europeans, they’ll get their first look at the diesel-powered Civic hatchback.

Hyundai

By now the Hyundai i30N is almost old news, but it will make its auto show debut in Frankfurt. Although the Hyundai i30N won’t be heading to North America, it gives us an idea of what to expect when the Veloster N debuts. The Korean automaker will also be showing off its Kona crossover.

Jaguar

We’ll get another look at the Jaguar E-Pace, a smaller version of the F-Pace. We’re hoping Jaguar surprises us at Frankfurt with a better look at the production I-Pace.

Kia

Kia released a teaser preview of a stylish new wagon concept that will make its debut in Frankfurt. Given how poorly wagons sell in North America, this concept likely previews a model heading to Europe. We’ll also get to check out the new Stonic subcompact crossover in person.

Mercedes-Benz / Mercedes-AMG

As of now, the most exciting car set to make its debut is the Mercedes-AMG Project One. It’s the brand’s hypercar answer to the Aston Martin Valkyrie and it will boast a Formula One hybrid powertrain with more than 1,000 horsepower. Expect to also see more from the company’s EQ lineup, along with a facelifted S-Class, and the brand’s first pickup, the X-Class. Mercedes will also debut the GLC F-Cell, a plug-in hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.

MINI

MINI has already introduced its Electric Concept that will be at Frankfurt, previewing the brand’s upcoming EV.

Porsche

Porsche already had its big debut with the new Cayenne. We’ll be sure to get a closer look at the next-generation SUV, even though we already know what to expect.

Smart

Smart‘s future in Daimler’s portfolio will likely focus on being a hi-tech, autonomous offering and that begins with the Vision EQ Concept it has already announced.

Toyota

Toyota confirmed it will debut the new Land Cruiser in Frankfurt, along with the C-HR Hy-Power Concept. Joining them on the show floor will be the Yaris GRMN and Auris Touring Sport Freestyle.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen has confirmed the I.D. Crozz 2.0 will make an appearance at Frankfurt, previewing a future all-electric crossover. It’s the second iteration of the I.D. Crozz Concept and it’s likely this version will closely resemble the production model.
