2025 Genesis GV80 Gets Updated, GV80 Coupe Officially Debuts
Genesis has finally unveiled the official North American production version of the new 2025 GV80 Coupe as well as the refreshed 2025 GV80. Like many other luxury brands, the GV80 will continue to be a traditional three-row SUV while the GV80 Coupe will complement it as a two-row SUV with sleeker styling.
A Newish Look
The outside of the GV80 gets a new grille this year that the brand refers to as having a Double Mesh G-Matrix Crest. Of course, there are the signature double strip headlights that have also been slightly reworked. Down on the front bumper there are larger air intakes and a wider, integrated skid plate.
The back of the GV80 also sees some mild revisions, which includes hidden exhaust tips, a hot trend within the industry right now. There’s a V-shaped chrome trim piece on the back as well as more chrome trim along the sides of the vehicle.
With most refreshes come new wheels and the 2025 GV80 is no exception. There are two new wheel designs, a 20-inch multi-spoke alloy and a 22-inch alloy utilizing Genesis’ two-line design.
Big Screens and Other Updates
Inside, there’s a sizeable 27-inch-wide OLED display that houses both the driver information center as well as the infotainment system. Stretching from the driver’s door to the center stack, it includes touch-based HVAC controls and new volume/tuning knobs.
Below it is a redesigned crystal-like gear shifter and a larger cup holder. There’s also a redesigned wireless phone charger that should be more visible for the driver compared to the current one.
As is currently the case, the 2025 Genesis GV80 will continue to offer two engine choices. The first is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 300 horsepower. The other option is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 375 hp.
2025 GV80 Coupe
During the GV80 Coupe's unveiling, Genesis used the word dynamism a lot to describe it. With a sloping rear roofline, the vehicle has an integrated rear lip spoiler and high mounted rear window spoiler. Up front, there are LED headlamps and the double mesh G-matrix crest grille. Out back, there is a unique design compared to the regular GV80. The Coupe has LED surface-emitting rear combination lamps and a wide integrated high mount brake light on the tailgate.
Inside, there’s an available two-tone D-cut steering wheel along with metal accents on both the gas and brake pedals. The Coupe gets its own interior patterns and stitching, to further separate it from the regular SUV model.
While on the topic of distinct elements, the GV80 Coupe gets an exclusive set of 22-inch alloy wheels. The exclusiveness doesn’t stop there though. The GV80 Coupe also receives a more powerful engine. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine, but this one includes a 48V electric supercharger. Total output reaches 409 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.
