2024 Honda Ridgeline Gains Trailsport Model, Updated Interior
Honda gives the Ridgeline a once-over for 2024.
The Honda Ridgeline has maintained a decent presence in the midsize pickup realm. Based on the same platform as the Honda Passport, the Ridgeline shares much of its mechanical bits with that crossover. So, when the Passport was updated for 2024, it was only natural that the Ridgeline would get many of the same updates.
For 2024, the Ridgeline now comes in four trims – Sport, RTL, top-of-the-line Black Edition, and the all-new Trailsport trim, which sits below the Black Edition in the hierarchy. The Trailsport gets its own unique grille, underbody protection, pewter-colored skid garnishes, and orange Trailsport badges on the grille and tailgate. The Trailsport goes beyond just styling changes, too. Honda says the trim has retuned shocks and dampers for better off-road performance, as well as General Grabber all-terrain tires.
As a whole, the rest of the model lineup receives a few model updates. Visually, they all get new grilles, and the tailgate now has the Ridgeline name embossed on the back of the truck. The interior has a new 7-inch digital gauge cluster, and a new 9-inch center infotainment screen. The infotainment screen is faster, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard.
These seem like great updates to an already solid model. However, this truck uses the older platform used on the previous generation Honda Pilot, and we do wonder when the Ridgeline and Passport will get a true update in the same vein as the new Pilot.
